Being one of the most widely famous artists with solo exhibitions around the world(Paris, Peking etc), El Bocho is very easy to spot on Berlin streets- just walk around Mitte(e.g. Weinmeisterstr) and Prenzlauerberg. He studied graphic design and was active on Berlin streets  since at least 1997. Originally he is from Frankfurt, though the name (“El Bocho”) comes from Spanish “brainy”. The artist keeps meticulous documenting the street acts in his blog, and it is important to him to establish contact and feedback with real ordinary public from the streets and not only artsy people.

The most famous and recognizable motif is a somewhat brutal round-eyed “little Lucy” who is related to the character from Czech cartoon of the 70s. Apparently Lucy hates cats, and chases them in most sophisticated ways: cutting the poor into Kebabs or  fitting them into a bread toaster.

El Bocho experiments with the medium of his works, so the quality of paper –e.g. colour change with time. Another street motif- vitrage-like female figures or faces.  El Boch is an author of the most monumental street art act- taping the whole building( a former swimming pool)  in Wedding.

Some of his work are in the gallery Raab, exhibition“Me, myself and I” .
